Description
Do you suffer from excessive sweating in the underarms, hands, feet, or any other area? You may have a medical condition known as hyperhidrosis. Sweating is a critical bodily function that aids in regulating our body temperature. With hyperhidrosis the body produces more sweat than is necessary. This can lead to social anxiety, low self-confidence, skin irritation, breakouts and difficulty performing manual tasks, especially for those who sweat from their hands.
There are many different options for treating hyperhidrosis. This can include using antiperspirant deodorants, medications or surgery to cut or destroy the sweat glands or the nerves responsible for sweat production. However, since 2004, neuromodulators such as BOTOX have been proven to be one of the safest and most effective hyperhidrosis treatments. It is quick, relatively non-invasive and with only slight discomfort in typical cases. For some more sensitive areas we use a local anesthetic gel first. The neuromodulator is injected just beneath the skin where it will block the chemical transmitters in your body that tell the eccrine glands in that area to produce sweat. With this messaging impaired, your perspiration levels return to normal.*
The benefits become noticeable within a few days. The results can typically last between 7 and 12 months, allowing you to live worry and embarrassment-free during that time.* Contact us for details.
